How to Personalize your sending options in Gmail
How to Personalize your sending options in Gmail
Do you prefer to have your inbox neat and tidy? Then this is the tip for you. Log into your Gmail account and go to the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the screen. Select settings from the drop down menu. Under general setting scroll down and look for 'send and archive'. Select: Show "Send & Archive" button in reply. This will enable you to now see to send options at the bottom of every email you receive. One option in gray to send and the other option in blue to send and archive. Archived emails will no longer appear in your inbox, however it will still appear in search results and if the sender replies to you it will reappear in your inbox.

No Red ink

One of my colleagues introduced my to No Red Ink earlier this year. This site is a wonderful grammar resource for grades 4 and up. This site requires a parent email to be attached to younger users and share the student's username and password with the parents for added security. "NoRedInk Writing helps students craft powerful essays through adaptive exercises and mastery-driven peer review."

Thinglink

Thinglink is a "leading platform for creating interactive images and videos for web, social, advertising, and educational channels. Be creative! Make your images come alive with video, text, images, shops, music and more! Every image contains a story and ThingLink helps you tell your stories."
Grade 3 has used Thinkglink of a few years to have students create and present their legacy projects. Students that I have taught have accounts set up and their login information can be found in their passports. Please feel free to ask the Grade 3 Teachers or myself for information about the uses of Thinglink.

Safer Internet Day
"Over the years, Safer Internet Day (SID) has become a landmark event in the online safety calendar. Starting as an initiative of the EU Safe Borders project in 2004 and taken up by the Insafe network as one of its earliest actions in 2005, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide, and across all continents."
Since I only learned about this last night on Twitter we're not doing anything specific at my school but perhaps next year we will.
